Developing a quantum-smart workforce

Developing a quantum-ready workforce is a core mission of the MonArk Quantum Foundry. We are creating educational programs, training opportunities, and hands-on research experiences that support learners and professionals at every stage of their careers in quantum materials, quantum information science, and quantum technologies.

Our team is currently developing resources for:

  • K-12 educators

  • Undergraduate students

  • Graduate students

  • Postdoctoral researchers

  • Industry scientists and engineers

As these programs launch, participants will have opportunities to gain training, research experience, and professional development in emerging quantum technologies.

For more information or to get involved in developing these resources, contact us at monarkfoundry@montana.edu. You can also sign up below to receive updates and announcements.

Education Opportunities Establish by MonArk

❋ Graduate-Level Quantum Materials Course

Hybrid curriculum and course material for a two-semester course on quantum materials science for graduate students in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, and related fields

❋ Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

A ten-week summer research program for undergraduate STEM students.

Summer 2027 REU Application Coming Soon
❋ Foundry Graduate Fellowships

Fellowship opportunities supporting graduate student research in quantum science and engineering.

❋ Industry Scientist and Engineer Program

Visiting research opportunities for scientists and engineers from the private sector interested in quantum technologies.

Let us bring MonArk to your classroom!

At our Arkansas site, our team has developed a mobile version of our semiconductor chip stacker, a tool used in our quantum materials research. This portable demonstration system can be brought to K-12 schools across Northwest Arkansas to introduce students to advanced semiconductor and quantum technology research through an engaging, hands-on experience.
